The Year of Languages is an initiative at Rutgers promoting linguistic and cultural diversity in higher education. The goal of the project is to communicate that knowing more than one language opens you up to a world of culture, ideas, and perspectives that you would not otherwise have access to.
With this in mind, I developed a brand for the project that focuses around translation, conversation, communication, and interaction that incorporates motion graphics to demonstrate translation and language exchange, a multi-colored palette that represents diverse communities coming together, and shape language that overlaps and weaves together to suggest interaction. Below are a few examples the branding assets I created that illustrate these brand ideals.
